The longer version:
Well... I'd say you actuallt really don't :) People have to notice them by their selves. But by posting in the forum and chatting, people will notice you and maybe check your gallery out :) You also should comment on other deviants arts and check out their galleries, maybe join some clubs and enter competitions. The more active you are, the bigger the chance someone will notice you - you know they like you if they add you to their dev-watch :D Also, never upload a lot of scrap. Put some time and effort into drawings, with nice backgrounds or shading, and people will think "Woooow!!" as they see the thumbnail pop up when they are browsing. Like with your cherry! It looked very neat as a thumbnail, and therefore people wanted to see it :D

... The shorter version:
1. Comment, chat and post in forum regulary (be active!)
2. Keep uploading good pictures
